Ice Cream Ghost
Ingredients
1/2 gallon spumoni, chocolate, or vanilla ice cream
Ghost, bat, or jack-o'-lantern cookie cutters
Waxed paper
Maraschino cherries
Whipped cream
One tube of thick chocolate sauce for every two guests (You can buy the sauce in a jar and place in a pastry- or cake-decorating tube.)
One tube of thick strawberry sauce for every two guests
Chocolate sprinkles
Gummy worms
Raisins
1 foil baking pan (approximately 8-by-12 inches—can be found in your grocer's baking aisle)
Instructions
Soften ice cream at room temperature for 15 minutes. Scoop into pan, and spread 1 inch thick with spatula. Cover with foil and freeze for at least 3 hours.
Remove pan from freezer, dip cookie cutter in warm water, cut ice cream into ghosts, and use a spatula to remove shapes from pan, bending pan as needed. Place each shape in the freezer when you're finished.
Present ice cream cutouts during the middle of the party. Every kid gets a scary face, and has fun making it scarier with red and black sauce, gummy worms, sprinkles, and other terrifying toppings.
Makes about 12 3-inch ice cream ghosts.
