I made this air freshener to sell at my craft show this weekend. I used different eyes. It is so darn cute. Here is the link for the instructions.

Ok, so now tell me. If you saw this at a craft show what would you expect to pay?

The air freshener was $1.00 each, $6.00 in all. The materials I needed, lace, eyes, ribbon, foam balls, stars, etc cost me $17.00. I figure I have enough to make 6 of them, so about $23.00 total.

That's about $4.00 each with some tax included...plus my time.

Here's a formula I found:
Multiply the average time it takes to make a product -- for example, two hours at $8 an hour equals $16. To this theoretical product, add the cost of materials -- perhaps another $8 -- bringing the base cost to $24. Multiply the base cost by two or three, depending on the price of similar crafts. The product that cost $24 to produce could be priced at $48.

Although I tend to just go by 2 or 3 times the cost of materials, but if it took me a long time then more than that. Soap is different because I get a lot of bars from one batch.

I have scottish and irish ones. I used the big wooden heads. I think a have a vhs tape on making them. I'm thinking like 10 years ago. It is funny how crafts come around again.
