I always had to dishes when I was a kid. Maybe that's why I hate doing them now :donno: :roflmao2:
What chores do your kids do?

Both kids: fold towels, clean their messes in the living room and playroom, clean their rooms, put up their laundry
Dd: clear dinner dishes when asked, take out the trash when asked, vacuum when asked, bathe the dog when needed, take the dog out to potty when needed
Ds: Whatever I need help with, he'll do. He likes helping with the dishes.
For the most part, aside from what I expect both kids to do, I take care of things. I do expect their help when I ask for it, especially when they are wanting money for something or a special toy they're working to earn.

DS (10) these are the jobs he usually does weekly, but sometimes we do it for him. Gather the garbage around the house, mow the lawn, makes his bed, empty and load dishwasher, sort laundry that is folded and brought to his room, throw laundry down the chute, empty his basket that we keep at the bottom of the stairs to collect the kids odds and ends, sometimes gets breakfast ready for he and dd. He'll do whatever we ask. He is his father's child.

DD(6) brings in newspaper, empties her basket, sorts her clothes, throws clothes down the chute. She doesn't have too many big jobs yet.

Sometimes they help with feeding the cat and making meals. They pick up their toys.
During softball season, ds drags the field after each game. He loves that job.

Sarah (14): Dishes 5x a week, cooks dinner 2x a week, cleans her room, helps with laundry, straightens the bathroom, takes out the trash as needed, and mows with the rider.

Kelly (10): Straightens the living room daily, keeps the kitchen table cleared off (since they both have a piling problem), sets the table, helps fold laundry and keeps her room clean. She also push mows the backyard and places in the rest of the yard where the mower can't fit.

Both of them: Alternate months for taking care of the animals & making dads sandwiches for his lunch the next day. Whoever has to take care of the animals, gets to sit up front in the car first when we go somewhere, then on the way back the other sits up front (Yaay no fights.. lol). They both also help keep the floors clean and have to pick up their stuff from the yard when they're done playing.

That's a really great tip!!!!

I like the car riding idea. DD is really too young to be up front yet, but I will keep that in mind.

DS1 (11 years old) Put all the clean dishes away every day, cleans up his messes, makes his bed, puts his laundry away, folds and puts away towels, helps tend MaKenna, cleans up most every thing I ask him to *smile*

DS2 (7years old) Takes out the trash every day (sometimes more then once a day) cleans up his messes, hauls dirty clothes to the laundry room, cleans up after himself, makes his bed, helps clean up MaKennas toys, helps bring in the grocerys from the truck.

Pretty much daily things change and I ask them to help with whatever needs helping.... they do it... not always happily LOL.... but they do it *smile*
