Whenever I log into RUR, I click on the view new posts since last visit. When I am done with all of those I refresh it. Sometimes new posts show up and sometimes they don't. On the old board it always added on anything that had been posted since I was logged in. This board only shows me some of the posts that are being made while I am here. What am I doing wrong? What do I do to see the additional posts that have been made?

For example, sometimes I start a new post and it does not show up unless I go directly to that forum and look for it. Why doesn't it show up when I refresh the list?

I think it is because the system is set to new posts only. If no one has posted to the post you wrote, then the post you wrote in won't show up. Once someone does answer you, the post will show up as new. On other people's posts, once you read all the entries, that post will not be set to be "new" anymore and you will have to wait until someone else posts before it will show up on the "new" page.
This was confusing to me also.

MrsB is completely right. Any post you've posted in or read will disappear from the list leaving only those you haven't visited yet.
