I am doing center pieces for a banquet COVER Home Repair. I took the word COVER and drew it into the tools that they use every day in the jobs that they do. Each word is all colored on separate pieces of poster board.

:donno:However. I cannot for the life of me think of a way to stand them up. I have made double copies to have the letter show on the back side.

For example C- Clamp O-Saw blade- V two screws shape of shape of a V
E - wood that they use to hammer, R a measuring tape and ruler in the shape of a R.

COVER is an organization that helps low income people repair their homes.
If anyone can give me any ideas on how to stand them up I have not cut them out they are still on square poster board. I have no clues on what to do. Any suggestions would be great. hi:

Bamboo Skewers in between two printed copies.

I like Dana's idea or you can use chop sticks, dowels. Dowels come in different lengths/widths and can be cut to fit.

Thanks you, You would glue them on the back to stand the poster board up on the tables. I am putting one letter on each table C O V E R

You could also use the stuff florists use for flower arrangements; that green stuff that comes in a block. That would hold the skewer/dowel/chopstick/whatever and steady the posterboard. Maybe even regular strofoam. Or use either of those and put it in a terro cotta pot.

You can cut a circle with the letter in the middle. Do what Dana said, put between the two circles a dowel or skewers or whatever. You can get things at AC moore like the foam, boxes or even square pieces of wood with a decorative trim around them for $1. Then you could make a hole in it and glue the dowel into the wood.
