I don't know if this is the right forum, but since it is about food, I put it here
What is your worst cooking experience?
I will tell you what just happened to me.
I was outside busy and I kept smelling something that smelled like fried chicken. I thought nothing about it and went on about my business. I go in the house and all of a sudden...it hits me!
I forgot all about those eggs boiling on the stove:yep:
Soooo.. I have burnt egg remains on my floor, ceiling, wall & stove. Big ol' mess!!

My mom tells a story about how they were sitting in church and all of a sudden she remembered that she left eggs boiliing on the stove. My dad went home and it was too late. :( Uh oh. What a mess!
I remember being about 22 years old, newly married and I was going to make meatloaf. I took the pan out of the oven after it was done, and you know how it's swimming in grease at that point. I tipped it over the sink to drain out the grease and the whole thing went into the sink. Shhhhh ... don't tell anybody. I scooped it out of the sink and patted it back into the pan, covered with ketchup and baked a little while longer. I guess we lived over it but now I wouldn't dream of doing it! Of course, if I were still a meat-eater now, I would use some sort of utensil to keep the meatloaf in the pan!

Its not horrible cooking experience.... but when me and my husband first got married i only knew how to make 3 dinners so we rotated them every 3 days. My poor husband was so sick of eating my cooking after a few months of this. The meals were spaghetti, sausage and BBQ sauce, and porkchops. Hahaha eventually i learned to cook more meals.

I have had a couple/few bad meals... I can NOT cook precooked foods... If all you have to do is warm it up I will ruin it. That makes me so MAD!!!!! What they hayseed can I NOT warm something up!? ARGH it is making me mad just thinking about it.
This week I tried to cook some premade tator tots... and grill some premade hamburger patties... OMG I made a huge mess, and it tasted terrible. The first batch of the hamburgers caught ON FIRE on the grill.....
I am a true dingbat when it comes to heating up premade food.... and I am sure it is NOT hard to do, it is just me....

I guess convenience is not in your stars. Don't feel bad. Thank goodness for the popcorn button on the microwave.

That is true, with that popcorn button I can make a mean bag of popcorn :yep:
(Keep in mind that I was only 17yo at the time.)
When my ex and I were married, we lived across the street from his friend and he'd come over for lunch sometimes. (he was single)
I made tacos for lunch one day and put the taco shells in the oven. We sat down and ate taco burgers and didn't give the shells another thought.
Later that day I opened the oven and the pan was there with no shells on it - just black spots where the shells used to be.

Yesterday~ We had a BBQ, I pulled the Burgers and hotdogs off the grill, The sausage didn't look done so I decided to leave them on for a few more minutes~ 2 hours later, I walked back to make sure the grill was off and clean it up.....lil BLACK, peices of sausage charcoal is all that was left, DH will be laughing about this for awhile. I was wondering why no one was eatting any sausage????

Dropping the thanksgiving turkey as I was putting it on the table and having my dog attack it in front of the in-laws

Speaking of dogs - about 2 years ago on Thanksgiving my cousin had gotten the turkey out and went into the other room and when she came back she caught her Lad licking it - she didn't say a word to her guests (only her brothers, sisters, in-laws, neices, nephews) - she did tell them at Christmas time though when they were gathered around another turkey. LOL
Lets see I was on the phone with Terri and cooking and all of the sudden the oil in the pan went up in flames it sounded like a plane taking off. I told Terri gotta go and got it out she called back to make sure I didn't burn the house down:yep:

my husband was at the firestation working shift and decided to make him something to eat ( i think it was tuna helper) well he caught the stove on fire. Keep in mind he is in a firestation and he is a firefighter! haha it happened about 2 years ago but i try not to let him live it down! There was no major damage but the other guys busted his b*lls over it for quite some time

oh yea, go ahead and blame it on Terri :ohhh:
LOL, these are great stories.
One time we were heating up some old grease in a small pan when it caught fire. I yelled at Carl to grab it and throw it outside. *WHY? Who knows.. lol* He started to and it burned his hand so he set it back on the stove. That's when I remembered to use FLOUR... 1/2 a huge container. That was fun to clean up. Then after we moved into this house... another pan of grease caught on fire. This time I used an extinguisher. I don't use grease like that anymore.
And of course once I fixed a turkey for the first Thanksgiving at my house... left in the bag and neck while cooking, because well...isn't that stuffing? LOL... duh.
