What did everyone have?

We had turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce and rolls. I also made a pumpkin pie, key lime pie, and MIL brought a blackberry pie.

It doesn't sound like much but we have leftovers for the next few days, thank goodness! I'm so sick of going to the grocery store and might get sick of leftovers too, but my choice of the two is to have the leftovers.

We went to the Olive Garden . I couldn't believe DH order Chicken Marsala. I made that the night before. He said well, I really like it. MEN. Came home and had champagne with mango and my Christmas cookies. We went to see Benjamin Button at the movies, really like that. Came home and had the honey bake stuff I bought with the $75 GC that DH got with a bottle of wine he got too. I couldn't eat desert because I had my eye on the box of Godiva.

Okay, Sonic would have been the ultimate Christmas dinner. I would have LOVED that!! We had ham, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, field peas, and kale. Dessert was cherry pie. It is Alicia and me. I mean, I can only cook so much. LOL

We had tacos. LOL Years ago we were home for Christmas - just the 3 of us and I asked what they wanted to have for dinner, said I would cook ANYTHING! Danny said "Anything?" I said anything. So he said he wanted tacos. I'm thinking tacos for Christmas? Then I thought - Christmas is for the kids and well, if he wants tacos for dinner and it will make him happy why the heck not - and so it's become out tradition. Today we are going to my brother's and then to my m-i-l's on New Years day.

We had a baking hen instead of turkey, tenderloin, corn, peas, stuffing, rolls, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. My sister came to visit mom unexpectedly, so the smaller meal I had planned had to be expanded quick. Little did I know, they'd ate a big lunch and wasn't even hungry.. lol.

Christina, I think tacos are fine! Up til this year, we've always had fried chicken and potatoes, biscuits and gravy for breakfast. This was the first year we've skipped the big breakfast and gone straight to the big lunch. We just did that because MIL/FIL were coming over. In fact, we had to drag out the nice china (blue, of course) and then used the Orrefors Intermezzo glasses. FIL broke one and apologized profusely. I just said "well, actually, you bought most of them so whatever!" They are $50 each at Macy's, so I imagine that he's there today buying a replacement, because I'm sure not!! Over the last 10 years, MIL has bought us about 30 of them so we have plenty. I think it's ridiculous because I'd rather just drink out of a regular ol' glass ... but that's how she is.

We went to my Grandmother's and had our traditional Lasagna & salad. We have been having Lasagna at Grandma's on Christmas Day for as long as I can remember.

I didn't even know what Orrefors Intermezzo glasses were - had to google it. LOL They are pretty.

My cousins m-i-l makes lasagna every year as well. Her theory is that they will be having turkey for thanksgiving, and then for Christmas as the other in-laws so she makes lasagna.

It cracks me up to hear all these breaking of traditions. :bs:
