A young couple left their 6-week-old baby with a friend for a few hours Sunday. While babysitting the infant, the 22yo girl beat her, burned her with a curling iron & drugged her with Xanax. Today, they removed her from life support and she died.
What in the Hell is wrong with people who do this??? I just don't understand.
'Baby Diana' dies, murder charges expected

BOGALUSA | A 6-week old infant who had been beaten, drugged and burned has died at Children's Hospital in New Orleans.
Diana Nelson passed away at 2:22 p.m. Thursday, according to Chris Price, communication manager for Children's Hospital.
Police said Thursday that Amy Leighanne Thomas, a friend of the baby's family, was facing cruelty to a juvenile charges, but that will change with the baby's death.
According to Sgt. Darrell Darden of the Bogalusa Police Department, those charges are expected to be upgraded to first degree murder sometime late Thursday evening or Friday morning.
"It's a sad day for everyone," Darden said. "I am glad that our officers, together with the Department of Social Services, were able to move quickly to make an arrest."
The infant was found with blunt force trauma, burns and drugs in her system earlier this week.
Investigators say Diana Nelson had been beaten over the head, singed with a curling iron and drugged with Xanax or a similar drug.
