Zip files... how do I change permissions

I download a zip file and anymore it downloads without asking permission. How can I change this, if anyone knows?

I'm not sure I understand the question Kathie. Do you mean that before when you d/l anything, your browser would ask permission to d/l it or is this just specific to zip files?
What browser do you use?

Mimix, I use IE. When I used to download zip files, I would be asked "Do you want to save this file to your computer?" Now, if I click on a .zip it downloads into my temp files automatically.

For some files it does ask, especially those that are executable. Files that contain graphics or php files, it just drops it in to the temp folder.
