Candied stirrers are easy to make and are a perfect gift for
the tea lovers in your life.

Candied stirrers are easy to make and are a perfect gift for
the tea lovers in your life.

Candied Tea Stirrers

30-35 pieces lemon or cinnamon flavored hard candy, crushed
2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
Clear plastic spoons

Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper and mist with cooking
spray. Over low heat, melt crushed candy and corn syrup in
saucepan, stirring frequently. Spoon candy into bowl-portion
of each plastic spoon. Place spoons on prepared cookie sheet
with handles on rims and spoons level. Allow to completely
harden. Wrap each spoon in clear plastic bags tied with ribbon.

I am on batch #2 and it's not going well. I have said every curse word I know and even made up a few. This is not my favorite thing to make so if anyone makes them and they turn out like they should, I would welcome some hints.

Batch #2 was a no-go as well, and nearly cost me a trip to the ER. I have a 3rd degree burn on one finger because this boiling sugar spun out and landed on my skin. It hardened before I could even wipe it off. Nice.

This is definitely something that looks like a good idea, but until someone successfully makes them, I'll pass.
